Before joining the law school, Mark’s work history is very unique since it includes being a professional magician and inspirational speaker.
As a non-traditional student, Mark graduated from Texas Tech University in December of 2000.
Upon graduating from TTU, he jumped right in to a counseling role as the leading Case Manager for Garza County Juvenile Detention Center. (2000-2003)
In 2003, he made an unusual turn and took a position as the Executive Assistant for the President/CEO of a manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. In one year, he was promoted to the HR Manager position for the corporation. In early 2011, family related circumstances brought him back to Lubbock, TX. In 2012, Mark accepted the financial aid advisor position here at TTU. Then in 2013, he became the Sr. Financial Aid Advisor for TTU School of Law.
Mark also helped set up a 501c 3 non-profit organization for which he served as the Executive Director for 3 years from 2005-2008.
Outside of the workplace, Mark is a professional magician, performing for over 30 years. As an inspirational speaker, he uses magic not only to entertain, but to teach insightful lessons about how we all have the power within us to achieve our business and personal goals – like magic.
Mark is married and has four kids from elementary to high school. He also has a Terrier whose favorite snacks are shoes, toilet paper and cardboard.
