How to Apply: Financial Aid Process
- The TTU financial aid website contains important information, including the financial aid process, helpful websites, and definitions of various financial aid terms.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year at www.fafsa.ed.gov in order to be considered for grants, scholarships, federal work study and loans. The FAFSA is available after January 1st each year. If you are selected by the federal processor for verification, you will be notified by email to provide additional information. If needed, the Verification worksheet(s) are available at at the TTU financial aid website.
- Once awarded, you will receive an email which will direct you to RaiderLink where you will be able to view your award.
- Complete the Loans By Web application process each time you are awarded a Stafford loan.
- Students who need additional funds to help pay for expenses related to the school's estimated cost of attendance may apply for a Grad PLUS loan. For information regarding eligibility for the Grad PLUS loan, go to TTU financial aid website. [New Grad PLUS application process]
- If you are applying for a Stafford and/or Grad PLUS loan, complete Entrance Loan Counseling as funds will not be released until this task is complete. Also, Entrance Loan Counseling is required once every 365 days when applying for a subsequent Stafford loan and/or Grad PLUS loan.
- Enrolled students receive refunds through Higher One,a financial services company. This program provides students with increased choices with regard to receiving refunds. Students must go to Higher One's secure site once the card is received to active the card. Students will be asked to select a refund method through this website after the card has been activated. For additional information regarding the Higher One card, please contact Student Business Services (SBS).
