Financial Aid Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration for federal or state financial aid programs, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen;
- Be registered with Selective Services if required; and
- Be enrolled as a regular full-time student at Texas Tech University School of Law
Full-time enrollment for first-year law students is 29 hours for the academic year (August through May).
Outside Employment
We recommend that students devote their entire time to the study of law. Students who are engaged in outside employment may be asked to withdraw from the school if the amount of time spent in outside employment is deemed excessive or appears to interfere with the full-time study of law. Outside employment cannot exceed 20 hours per week.
International Students
Financial aid is available only to those students who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States. All accepted international students must provide documentation showing financial responsibility. An approved I-20 is required before an international student can obtain a student visa. Before an I-20 can be approved, accepted international students will have to show they will have access to one year's cost of education.
