Professor Bruner comes to Texas Tech from the Boston University School of Law, where he taught corporate law as a Visiting Assistant Professor. He currently teaches corporate law and securities regulation as a Visiting Professor at the Washington and Lee University School of Law (Fall 2008), and will conduct research in the area of comparative corporate law as a Visitor to the Faculty of Law at Cambridge University during the Spring of 2009.

Having received his A.B. in 1995 from the University of Michigan, and his M.Phil. in 1997 from Oxford University, where he held an Overseas Research Student Award, Professor Bruner received his J.D. in 2001 from Harvard Law School, where he served as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard International Law Journal. He then practiced with Ropes & Gray LLP in Boston, where he worked with private and public companies on a range of corporate, transactional, and securities matters.

Professor Bruner has written in a number of areas -- including corporate law, securities regulation, international trade and investment, European Union law, and the global economy -- and has spoken in the United States, Mexico, and Europe. He co-authored a number of case studies and technical notes while a Research Associate at Harvard Business School, and his articles have appeared in both law and policy journals.

Here at Texas Tech, Professor Bruner teaches Business Entities, International Economic Regimes, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Securities Regulation, and serves as Program Advisor for the Business Law Certificate Program.
