Associate Professor Bill Jeffery is the Deputy Director of the Center for Water Law and Policy and teaches environmental and natural resource courses at the law school. Professor Jeffery brings to these roles over thirty years of experience as an attorney working with environmental and natural resource issues. In addition to several years serving as an attorney on water quality issues at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Mr. Jeffery has counseled clients on issues such as dioxin contamination at Times Beach Missouri; groundwater and Superfund site contamination; and compliance with air, water, and hazardous waste laws in the United States and several foreign countries. He also has worked on water supply issues in California and the Southwest and has helped design a market-based “cap and trade” program for sulfur dioxide emissions in the western United States.
