Julie Doss received her J.D. from Texas Tech in 1999, after graduating from Texas A&M University in 1995 with a degree in Management. Ms. Doss was a member of the Texas Tech Law Review, serving as a Staff Member and Articles Editor. Following law school, Ms. Doss worked as an associate with the law firm of Nelson & Nelson in Lubbock, Texas. Ms. Doss's practice consisted primarily of insurance defense. Ms. Doss joined the law school as Director of Career Services in September of 2003, and was named Assistant Dean for Career Services in April 2008.
