Gifts to the Law School Foundation
All gifts to the Law School Foundation are welcome. Gifts may be designated for a specific purpose, such as a contribution to the library, or as an unrestricted donation. Unrestricted gifts are utilized by the Dean of the Law School to fund academic and administrative needs and special projects not covered by state funds. Gifts of $50,000 or more provide naming opportunities in the law school to recognize the donor or any individual the donor chooses to honor.
Endowed Scholarships
An endowed scholarship is a permanent possession of the institution and is invested to provide income for scholarship support. The principal itself is never spent and is thus a continuing and reliable source of funds. In addition, the name of the donor or honored person becomes a permanent part of the law school legacy, known and remembered by future generations of law students. A fully-funded, named scholarship may be endowed beginning at the minimum level of $5,000.
Gifts To Law School Organizations And Publications
Many of the law school's organizations benefit from donations, gifts and sponsorships. Individual organizations may be contacted to identify specific projects and events that need alumni and donor support. Some of the organizations include: the Texas Tech Administrative Law Journal, Texas Tech Law Review, Legal Research Board, Minority Law Student Associations, Texas Bank Lawyer and the Texas Tech Lawyer Alumni Magazine.
For information about any type of gift, pledge, donation or bequest to the law school, please contact Dean Walter B. Huffman (806) 742-3990 ext. 257, or Acting College Development Officer Casey Carson at 806-742-3990 x315.
