Distinguished Alumni and Service Awards
Nominations
Purpose
The purpose of the Distinguished Alumni and Service Awards is to recognize and honor alumni who have made significant
contributions to the bench, bar or community and whose accomplishments and careers have brought credit to the law school
and to the legal profession as a whole.
Distinguished Alumni
To be eligible for a Distinguished Alumni Award, an individual must:
- Have graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law;
- Be a person of such integrity, stature, and demonstrated ability that the faculty, staff, students, and
alumni will take pride in and be inspired by his/her recognition;
- Have demonstrated a continuing interest in areas outside the fields of law such as to bring honor and
prestige to the profession; and
- Be distinguished in his/her profession, life work, or other worth endeavors.
Distinguished Service
To be eligible for a Distinguished Service Award, an individual must:
- Have graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law;
- Be a person of such integrity, stature, and demonstrated ability that the faculty,
staff, students, and alumni will take pride in and be inspired by his/her recognition; and
- Exhibit a demonstrated passion for advancing the goals of Texas Tech University School of Law.
Method of Selection
Nomination forms, a current CV, letters of recommendation, and any supporting documentation for 2013
Distinguished Alumni and Service Awards may be submitted via email, fax, or mail no later than 5:00 p.m.
on Friday, August 9, 2013. The Awards will be presented during the 10th Annual Law School Gala on March 7, 2014.

Selection Process
The 2013 Distinguished Alumni and Service Awardees will be selected by a steering committee comprised of faculty, staff, student,
and alumni representatives by the last week in August. Award recipients will be notified by the Dean in September. A
formal announcement will be made in December.
