Caprock Regional Public Defender Office

The Caprock Regional Public Defender Office is a project through the Texas Tech University School of Law Clinical Programs and is funded by a grant through the Texas Indigent Defense Commission. The CRPDO works to give access to legal counsel and increase the quality of representation provided to indigent citizens accused of crimes.

The Caprock Regional Public Defender Office/Criminal Defense Clinic is offered as a full-year graded course during the Fall and Spring Semesters with students receiving eight credit hours for the year. Participants are limited to third year law students and a maximum of 12 students are selected for this clinic.

The Caprock Regional Public Defender Office is located in Lubbock, Texas in the Bank of America Building on University and 19th Street. With the great distances throughout the 14-county region, video-conferencing equipment has been placed in the CRPDO in Lubbock, in each courtroom utilizing the CRPDO, and in many of the jails servicing the region.
