Part Time: Family Social Services Internship
Description: The intern will assist a Family Service Worker (FSW) in providing appropriate social services in accordance with licensing standards, contract terms, agency policies, accreditation standards and funding requirements as well as other assigned duties. The intern will gain experience by shadowing the FSW during post placement supervision, monthly home inspections, home screening and verifications, accompanying FSW to court hearing, attending weekly placing meetings with the FSW and developing community resources including recruitment and training of foster and adoptive families.
Qualification: The Lubbock office of LSS is seeking a friendly eager intern that can work flexible 5-15 hours a week for at least one semester's length of time. Areas of study that would most benefit from this internship are Social Work, Human Development and Family Studies, Psychology, Education, Criminal Justice, Family Law. Other areas of study will be considered. We will work with you or your college to complete necessary documentation for proof of your participation in this internship. This position is a non-paid internship but there are many opportunities to receive excellent practical experience.
