Orientation
A three-day orientation program for incoming first-year (1L) law students is held each year just before Fall semester classes begin. New law students are strongly encouraged to attend, because students are guided through many important preparatory activities.
What Happens During Orientation?
You'll participate in activities and presentations on topics such as:

- How to Manage Your Time and Studies
- Case Briefing
- Legal Method
- Law Library Orientation and Tour
- Using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
- Get Library Carrel Keys, Security Cards and Student Photographs
- Honor Code, Exams and Law School Expectations
- Texas Lawyers Assistance Program
- Professionalism Oath
